Rory McIlroy is doing well for himself, and he's almost halfway to being a member of the 3 Comma Club.
McIlroy's self-established management firm, Rory McIlroy Inc., reports the four-time major winner's book value -- different from his personal net worth -- at $422 million, according to official documents filed in Ireland, where the company is based.
The Ulsterman set up the firm to manage his affairs in October 2013, after ending his short-lived management relationship with Dublin-based Horizon Sports Management. McIlroy prematurely terminated the contract with Horizon, leading to a lawsuit that ultimately ended in McIlroy making a settlement payment to his former management firm.
McIlroy's Dublin-based firm, of which McIlroy is the lone shareholder, handles his personal affairs, including endorsement deals with Nike, Bose and Omega, among others. Rory McIlroy Management Services Ltd, the formal name of the firm, lists McIlroy's residence as being located in Dubai, who has one of the least cumbersome tax systems among modern major economies.
