A private developer has proposed the construction of a new championship-caliber golf course on 735 acres of land at Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park. The $15-20 million proposed course is supported by former PGA Tour player Joe Ogilvie. It's unclear if there is any connection to the tournament's move to Austin and the proposed development, although the PGA Tour has visited the proposed site and view it favorably, according to supporters.
San Francisco's TPC Harding Park is serving as a one-off host to the event in 2015, which will be played April 29-May 3, the week before The Players Championship.
