Jay Flemma joins Golf News Net, debuting at the PGA Championship

LATER THIS WEEK, JAY CATCHES UP WITH WHISTLING STRAITS ARCHITECT PETE DYE FOR HIS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW

Hey everybody! Great to see you all.

My coverage as a writer for Golf News Net will open with an assignment blending all the areas I will cover for the site: major golf championships, music and entertainment/pop culture, and adventure travel and fitness.

While out in Wisconsin all week long for the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, I'll also run a 10K loop through the most scenic and famous parts of the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, take in the Phish gig at gorgeous Alpine Valley Music Center the night before the tournament starts, and play both Erin Hills, site of the 2017 U.S. Open, and Lawsonia's venerable Links course. one of the great Golden Age classics designed by the Midwestern duo of Langford and Moreau, friends and contemporaries of the great Charles Blair Macdonald, Seth Raynor and Charles "Steamshovel" Banks. Those are both places you can play, so keep those sticks shined up; you could be next on the tee box.

I'll also be broadcasting the Jay's Plays radio show from the media center all week, so tune in every day for the latest information, laser-sharp analysis and a grillion laughs with our off-beat friends and colleagues from around the golf world.

I'm elated to be a part of such a forward-looking and fast-growing media outlet as GNN. I've known Ryan Ballengee for a decade, and I've seen the dedication and deep thinking he brings to golf coverage. It's always a pleasure to work with him, everything he works on is successful, and I look forward to contributing thought-provoking, fun, and interesting analysis of so many different ways in which golf touches all our lives, not just Tour players and tournaments.

U WISCONSIN CAMPUS - A GREAT PLACE FOR A RUN!
U WISCONSIN CAMPUS - A GREAT PLACE FOR A RUN!

We'll run half marathons and play golf, we'll hang out back stage and play golf, we'll climb mountains or visit ancient ruins and play golf. It's the Rock-n-Roll Golf Diaries and the Adventure Golf Diaries, in addition to the Architect's Progress, tournament coverage, both professional and amateur, and travel across the golf world, so get psyched, everybody. I'm glad to be aboard, and you will be, too!
