The 2026 AIG Women's British Open final leaderboard is headed by winner Shiho Kuwaki, who topped the LPGA Tour leaderboard this week with a major championship breakthrough win at Royal Lytham and St. Annes Golf Club in Lytham St. Annes, England.
Kuwaki won this event for her first LPGA Tour win and first major championship with a playoff win over Esther Henseleit after both players finished regulation tied on 5-under 279.
Kuwaki, a five-time Japan LPGA winner, finished first with a closing 70, waiting more than 30 minutes to see the end, which saw Henseleit make a 40-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to force a sudden-death playoff.
Both players made pars on the first playoff hole on the 18th, with Kuwaki forced to lay up after a bad drive and Henseleit two-putting for par. On the second playoff hole, Henseleit had to layup after her drive found the gorse, and she was unable to make par. Kuwaki two-putted after finding the green following a great drive, and she won the title.
Yealimi Noh, the 54-hole leader, finished in third place and a shot out of the playoff.
Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul finished in a share of fourth place on 2-under total.
Kuwaki won the $1,500,000 winner's share of the $10,000,000 purse.

Kuwaki picks up the win in the 20th LPGA Tour event of the season, getting in the winner's circle for the first time on the LPGA Tour.
By winning the event, Kuwaki would have 650 points in the Race to the CME Globe, with the top 60 players in points after The Annika in November getting into the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship. She is now eligible for LPGA membership.
This week, there was a 36-hole cut in this event to the top 65 and ties through two rounds, with 68 players (66 pros) out of 144 total players finishing the tournament.
