The 2026 British Open Championship continues the PGA Tour season with the event at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England, welcoming 156 world-class players to the PGA Tour event.

The 2026 British Open Championship betting odds indicate this week's favorite is Scottie Scheffler, who comes in at +750 betting odds.

Rory McIlroy is 17-to-2 as he looks to build on a great Sunday in the Scottish Open and get another major to bookend his year.

Matt Fitzpatrick is 20-to-1, as he looks to pick up a major championship in his best season on the PGA Tour in terms of overall consistency.

The Open might be my favorite major because of how unique it truly is compared to what we see the rest of the year. Birkdale is a great ballstriker's course, and the players are going to need to figure out how to best manage the firm and fast conditions.

Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose will see a lot of action this week because of their connections to Birkdale, and both are warranted.

Chris Gotterup is a fascinating player this week, having played well the last two outings in a row, and he did so well in his Open debut last year.

Patrick Reed might be worth a speculative sprinkle this week, as the venue should suit his game.
