We continue our 2026 PGA Tour one-and-done picks with the 2026 British Open Championship and Corales Puntcana Championship, concluding at the 2026 Tour Championship, keeping track of our picks all along the way.
Before we begin, if you're not familiar with game, read this primer on the one-and-done fantasy golf format, and welcome to the game. It really is as easy as it sounds, but you have to take a long-term view of the season to figure out how best to use players.
This week, we have the British Open Championship, with the PGA Tour heading back to Scotland and The Renaissance Club for a pre-Open test. There's also the Corales Puntcana Championship and second-year host Hurstbourne Country Club, which played tough last year.

At The Open, it's a world-class 156-player field taking on a great ballstriker's venue in Birkdale. It's been changed some, but it's reportedly very firm and fast already, which should require a lot of imaginative golf.
And then there's the Corales Puntcana Championship in the Dominican Republic, with a 144-player field looking to capture important cash and points. This tournament is typically earlier in the year, so the heat is certainly going to play a factor for some players -- well, more the intensity of the sun.
Somehow, Ludvig Aberg missed the cut at a place he likes, though Max Homa wasn't half bad in Kentucky (but I should have gone with Taylor Pendrith, who I mentioned). Rory McIlroy is the only huge name that I have left that I need to use in a major, so that's the pick, but read on anyway.
2026 British Open Championship One and Done picks
- Scottie Scheffler: How do you think he responds to his first MC in some four years? I'm guessing well.
- Rory McIlroy: McIlroy of course backdoored into a great finish on Sunday, but it sounds like whatever he's worked on clicked.
- Tommy Fleetwood: This is the Open in his hometown, and he's been playing quite well for a while now.
- Justin Rose: If you believe in things coming full circle, then Rose doing well at Birkdale makes a lot of sense.
My pick this week is Chris Gotterup. (**I originally had Rory McIlroy here. However, I forgot to Ctrl+F through my prior picks, as I had used him at the Truist. I still like the Rory pick, but I apparently used the other three I have listed. So, I went with my highest-ranked player in my top-10 article that I had not yet used. True brain fart this week.)
2026 Corales Puntcana Championship One and Done picks
- Blades Brown: Brown has been straddling two tours in hopes of finding a PGA Tour card, and this is a huge opportunity for him.
- Stephan Jaeger: Jaeger played well in Kentucky last week, and his length should be of benefit here.
- Chan Kim: One of the few horse-for-course players that isn't over 40, but he's not thriving at the moment.
- Matti Schmid: Schmid has been in the top 11 here in the last two years, so why not?
