The British Open Championship field is headlined by the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick and more. This event moves the PGA Tour into England for the final major championship of the season.
This is set to be a 156-player field is played out over four days, with this event marking the 30th tournament of the 2026 PGA Tour schedule.
The 156-player tournament is being played in its originally intended slot, continuing the 2026 PGA Tour season in an event that offers 750 FedEx Cup points and 100 Official World Golf Ranking points to the winner.
We do not have Monday qualifiers for this event, which will be played Thursday though Sunday. Joe Dean won the last-chance qualifier on Monday for the final spot in the field, after Johnny Keefer, Michael Thorbjornsen and Victor Perez getting spots through their finish in the Genesis Scottish Open.
The British Open Championship alternate list has already been set, with the top names at present on the list set to replace any withdrawn players.
The field will be playing for a $17 million purse, with 50 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking among the top contenders.
