Who is Marco Penge? Bio for the 2026 Valspar Championship contender

Marco Penge is a leader in the weekend at the 2026 Valspar Championship, the PGA Tour's Tampa-area event at Innisbrook Resort and the Snake Pit. He's in search of his first PGA Tour win on a big stage.

Penge is 27 years old, and he is in the field at Valspar ChampionshipDubai graduates list from the DP World Tour.

For Penge, his journey to the PGA Tour is a remarkable story.

Penge was born in Crawley, West Sussex, England. He didn't play college golf before making his way into the world of professional golf.

Penge won three times in 2025

Marco Penge has been successful at every level, including as an amateur and after he turned pro in 2017.

Penge graduated from the DP World Tour in 2025 based on his finish on the Race to Dubai points list, moving up to the PGA Tour. Last year, he finished in the top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking, both used to gain entry to every regular PGA Tour event this season outside of the majors. He's been in the first two Signature events.

Entering this week, Penge was ranked 101st in FedEx Cup points and ranked 39th in the Official World Golf Ranking. He earned his way into this event through his status through last season's DP World Tour Race to Dubai list.

In his personal life, Penge is single.

What a win at the Valspar Championship means

With a win today, Penge would earn the benefits of being a PGA Tour winner, including a two-year PGA Tour exemption, and he would gain berths into the 2026 Masters and 2026 PGA Championship. And, according to the 2026 Valspar Championship payout, he would win $1.638 million to top it all off.
