The 2025 The Players Championship final round was been delayed by weather and its playoff finish postponed to Monday at TPC Sawgrass on the Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., meaning Rory McIlroy and JJ Spaun will have to complete the PGA Tour's crown jewel event in a fifth day of play.
The 2025 The Players Championship playoff is set to begin from TPC Sawgrass at 9 a.m. Eastern time on Monday in northeast Florida.
2025 The Players Championship Monday playoff format
McIlroy and Spaun will play a three-hole, aggregate-score playoff on the par-5 16th, par-3 17th and par-4 18th holes to determine the winner. The player with the lowest combined score after three holes will win.
If there's a tie after those three holes, then the playoff will become a sudden-death playoff starting on No. 17 and No. 18, then cycling through 16, 17 and 18 again until there's a winner.
The winner will earn $4.5 million and 750 FedEx Cup points, as well as a five-year PGA Tour exemption and a three-year exemption into all four major championships.
