2017 Senior British Open Championship purse, winner's share, prize money payout

The 2017 Senior British Open Championship purse is set for £1.5 million, with the winner's share coming in at £235,750 -- slightly higher than the standard 15 percent payout according to the PGA Tour Champions' prize money distribution chart.

Players who miss the cut are also paid for competing. Players missing the cut but 90th place or better after 36 holes earn£1,500 ($1,965), those 91st through 110th get £1,190 ($1,559), those 111th through 130th get £910 ($1,192) and those finishing 131st through 144th get £750 ($983).

The Senior British Open Championship field is headed by Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Billy Andrade and Miguel Angel Jimenez.

The event is played this year at Royal Porthcawl in Wales, which hosted in 2014.
