In order to qualify for the WGC-Mexico Championship field, a player must meet one of 10 qualifying criteria.
The field is built around the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking as of the week prior to the tournament starting. Players who finish highly in the PGA Tour and European Tour points races in the prior season get in, as do players ranked highly to that point in the season.
The small global tours in the International Federation of PGA Tours get to send their top money winners from the prior season.
