Golf Channel has changed their fantasy golf game for 2017, and it's a format that's much more like daily fantasy golf.
The new Golf Channel fantasy golf game is a week-to-week affair, with a new contest for each PGA Tour event instead of weekly contests feeding into a season-long league. In prior years, gamers would pick PGA Tour players from groups to form a team, without any concern for how often that player was used during the season. It was a simplified version of Yahoo's fantasy golf format.
Now, the new Golf Channel fantasy golf format gives players a $100,000 salary cap, tasking a gamer with picking a team of six players for the tournament. Players then earn points based on performance. The team with the most points wins, earning a prize. Top finishers will be invited to an exclusive tournament the next week.
