Arccos Golf has developed the next generation of its golf performance- and shot-tracking system, delivering features it hopes will make the user experience seamless and less onerous on mobile phone battery life.

Dubbed Arccos Golf 360, the most notable improvements in the system come in two areas.

The system now uses a new algorithm for shot detection which, the company says, practically eliminates the need for round editing to clarify the origination of some shots on the course, particularly putts.

The sensors also have been redesigned for the new generation, now half the size and weight of the original Arccos Golf system. Players had complained that the sensors were too bulky, almost turning into grip extensions that were distracting.

The battery life on the new sensors is guaranteed for two years without charging.

The new Arccos 360 is now available for $250.
