Andrew "Beef" Johnston is coming back to America, looking to earn his PGA Tour for the 2016-17 season.
Johnston, as well six other players, have qualified for the Web.com Tour Finals by virtue of their finishes as non-members in PGA Tour events this season.
A total of 150 players initially qualify for the Web.com Tour Finals, with the top 75 in regular season Web.com Tour earnings and Nos. 126-200 on the regular season FedEx Cup points list getting in the field for the four-event series with 25 PGA Tour cards on the line. Non-PGA Tour members, like Johnston, can also get in the series if their combined finishes in PGA Tour events would hypothetically earn them enough FedEx Cup points to land from Nos. 126-200 on the standings. Johnston earned 146 non-member FedEx Cup points, which would have put him 191st in the standings.
The other six players who are eligible for the Web.com Tour Finals as PGA Tour non-members are:
- Kiradech Aphibarnrat
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Bobby Wyatt
- Kyung-tae Kim
- George Coetzee
- Gregory Bourdy
The Web.com Tour Finals start Sept. 8 with the DAP Championship in Ohio and end with the Web.com Tour Championship. The 25 players who earn the most money in the series earn PGA Tour cards for the next season.
