2016-2017 PGA Tour schedule unveiled, and it looks more normal

The 2016-2017 PGA Tour schedule has been released, and it looks a lot like the schedule we've grown accustomed to seeing in recent years.

There are some new host courses this season, with the WGC-Mexico Championship going to a to-be-determined course in Mexico City, the Wells Fargo Championship going to Eagle Trace Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C., for one year and the Quicken Loans National going to TPC Potomac for one year. Glen Oaks Golf Club hosts the newly dubbed The Northern Trust as part of its normal rotation. The rotating majors will see the U.S. Open go to Erin Hills in Wisconsin, the Open Championship go to England's Royal Birkdale and the PGA Championship go to normal Wells Fargo Championship site, Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.

There are some new sponsors on the schedule: Safeway replacing Frys.com at the Napa, Calif., event; Hyundai's Genesis brand taking over the Northern Trust Open at Riviera; there's currently no sponsor for the Tournament of Champions; Northern Trust taking over the first FedEx Cup event from Barclays.
