OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The 2017 Constellation Senior Players Championship will be played at Caves Valley Golf Club, the Champions Tour will announce Tuesday.

The Senior Players, one of the Tour's five majors, had been played at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh from 2012-14, moving for one year to Belmont Country Club in Massachusetts in 2015, won by Bernhard Langer. The 2016 edition of the event will be played at Philadelphia Cricket Club.

Caves Valley, a Tom Fazio design which opened in 1991, has hosted events of increasing importance in recent years. It began in 1995, when the U.S. Mid-Amateur was contested at the club. In 2002, Don Pooley won the U.S. Senior Open at the club. Three years later, it hosted the 2005 NCAA men's golf championship before hosting the women's championship in 2009. In 2014, it was host to the first-ever LPGA International Crown team event.
