Jordan Spieth earned $1.8 million for winning the Masters

Jordan Spieth won more than any golfer ever has for winning the Masters and as much as anyone has ever won for winning a major title.

The 21-year-old Texan won $1.8 million for winning the 2015 Masters, as Augusta National pushed the total tournament purse to $10 million for the first time, matching the 2014 PGA Championship and Players Championship as the most lucrative golf tournaments ever played.

Spieth earned $180,000 more for winning on Sunday than 2014 champion Bubba Watson, who beat Spieth in the final group a year ago for his second Masters title. Watson earned $1.62 million from a $9 million purse.

Here's a look at the full payout, via the Augusta Chronicle, with players who finished worse than 50th earning less money. Past champions also earn an honorarium.
