Nakagawa family takes their Hawaiian love of the game nationwide

As winter envelopes much of the mainland, a bit of warmth and sunshine is always welcome. On this episode of the “Talking GolfGetaways” podcast, both are provided, courtesy of one of the more remarkable families in golf — the Nakagawa clan — who join co-hosts Mitch Laurance and Darin Bunch from their home in paradise on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Father Kiley, daughter Khloe (12) and son Blake (10) take some time from a hectic travel and family-fun schedule to explain how golf has become their central common denominator, starting as early as when Blake was 2. Khloe followed, and now both are set on a path that allows them — thanks to the incredible support of Kiley and mother Miho, and their off-the-charts talent — to compete at high-level tournaments, not only island-wide on their beloved Hawaiian courses but on some of the best mainland courses such as Pinehurst, Torrey Pines and TPC Scottsdale.

Blake, Khloe and Kiley each share their own stories, and this episode is perhaps the best example of the why golf is the greatest game — and a most wonderful family connection — no matter where you live nor how old you are.
