Phil Mickelson's 2017 schedule should begin with him serving a dual function of player and sort-of host at the CareerBuilder Challenge in the California desert near Palm Springs. Then we should see Mickelson at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open, Waste Management Phoenix Open and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Mickelson has regularly committed to The Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and it's expected that will continue.
Mickelson should be in the WGC-Mexico Championship, and he likes the Shell Houston Open before the Masters. He'll be in all four major championships.
It's unclear if Mickelson will play in the Wells Fargo Championship since it is not at Quail Hollow in 2017. However, he should compete in The Players and the Memorial Tournament. We should see him at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, the week prior to the U.S. Open at Erin Hills.
We should see Mickelson in all four FedEx Cup playoff events and he'll play some role, likely as a player, at the Presidents Cup at Liberty National in New Jersey in September.
