Convenience store clerk fends off robber with putter beating

FOLLOW: iHEART | TUNEIN

A convenience store clerk in Massachusetts wasn't about to let some punk with a knife rob his store, so he used a putter to even the fight.

A would-be robber, identified as , showed up to Stop Quick Convenience Store in Methuen, Mass., and tried to literally take the cash register with him. Reacting quickly, the clerk reaches out of the field of the security camera, locks the store entrance, grabs a putter and hits the suspect. Still determined, the robber pulls the register off the counter and toward the door. The clerk continues the counter strike by coming out from behind the counter and continuing to wale with the putter.

After a feeble attempt to defend himself, the robber dives through the shattered entry to the store and flees.

The suspect is still on the run.
