You'd think Rory McIlroy's ankle injury that has him sidelined for this week's British Open would have established that soccer and golfers -- even the athletic, fit ones -- do not mix.

But there was two-time 2015 major winner Jordan Spieth on Tuesday, playing soccer on the grounds of the Old Course at St. Andrews during a second consecutive day of practice in preparation for the third leg of the Grand Slam.

Spieth was using one of those soft souvenir bouncy balls that are made to look like golf balls that they sell in the merchandise tent. So maybe it was more like kickball, but still.

If this is the world No. 2's way of trolling the Rory McIlroy, then it's brilliant. Even if it earns mad swagger points, it's not worth it.

Jordan, put those feet on the ground and get that soccer ball, football, whatever, away from your limbs.
