For the last several years, the Wells Fargo Championship was the precursor to The Players. In a one-year reversal, however, Charlotte is the follow-up to the PGA Tour's crown jewel. Quail Hollow Club, which will host the 2017 PGA Championship, is again host to one of the better-run events on the docket.
Rory McIlroy leads the field, going off with 7-to-2 odds. Then it's a big jump down to the likes of Henrik Stenson and Jim Furyk, who are off at 18-to-1 shots this week. Hideki Matsuyama and Phil Mickelson are next at 25-to-1 in the early books.
