It wasn't quite a massacre, but vandals did some serious damage to a pair of greens on Winged Foot Golf Club's East course.

On Sunday afternoon, a pair of all-terrain vehicles were seen entering the club's property, just off the fifth green of the East course. The riders did thousands of dollars in damage to the fifth hole and sixth green. A member of the club and a caddie witnessed the incident. As a result of the damages, the fifth hole will be closed for the rest of the season, according to The Journal News.

Winged Foot's West course has hostedĀ five U.S. Opens -- most recently in 2006 -- and the 1997 PGA Championship. It'll again host the U.S. Open in 2020.
