It's not every day that you see a golf match end with a hole-in-one, but that's exactly what happened on Nov. 23 out in Oceanside, California.
Xander Schauffele, Geoff Ogilvy, Chris Riley and Dean Wilson were a foursome competing in an exhibition match at Goat Hill Park -- what has been dubbed the Wishbone Brawl. Clothier Linksoul sponsors the event, which features the pros using persimmon woods in a two-on-two match and playing a skins game for $1,000 per hole.
The North County Junior Golf Association and the Geoff Ogilvy Foundation in Australia were the event's beneficiaries.
The match was sent to extra holes when Dean Wilson made birdie to level the match for him and his partner Schauffele, forcing sudden death against Ogilvy and Wilson. Only one playoff hole was needed.

On the first playoff hole, the par-3 ninth, Ogilvy struck a perfect tee shot. His ball slam-dunked into the hole for a match-ending ace, the ninth-lifetime hole-in-one for the 2006 US Open champion.
Naturally, the crowd went nuts. But they had no idea who had hit the shot. The glare of the setting sun obscured their view of who made the hole-in-one.
Just a few minutes later, Ogilvy arrives greenside and literally drops his club to the ground to signify the end of the match.
Ogilvy confirmed what might seem obvious to the average person, that he had never finished off winning a match with a hole-in-one.
