If you’re new to head-to-head matchups betting in golf, sportsbooks give bettors a variety of one-on-one or group matchups, pitting players against each other in a single round or for an entire tournament. Of course, before the tournament, we’re looking at either first-round wagers or whole-tournament wagers. If only one of the players makes the cut (there’s no cut this week), then that player is the winner by default, assuming they finish.

This week, we have the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational and the Barracuda Championship. We’re avoiding the Barracuda Championship like the plague because of the Stableford scoring that could turn wins into losses (or vice versa).
We went 1-1-1 at the Memorial, and we skipped the 3M Open because it seemed like it was going to be a total lottery. We may have some of that this week, too, but at least it’s a lottery with all top players.
Kevin Streelman (+125) over Scottie Scheffler: Our model has Streels slightly ahead of Scheffler in a matchup, so this price seems like a great value.
Webb Simpson (+115) over Xander Schauffele: Big Game X is always a threat on these bigger stages, but Simpson should be poised for a rebound on a course he likes, putting Bermudagrass greens.
Ian Poulter (+100) over Marc Leishman: Leishman has been a bit of a mess in the return, and Poulter’s been great.[/s2If]
