Justin Rose and long-time caddie Mark Fulcher split ‘for now’ as Fulcher battles health issues

After 11 years, Justin Rose and long-time caddie Mark Fulcher have put an indefinite pause on their relationship as Fulcher faces medical issues that prevent him from working at full strength.

The world No. 3 made the announcement on Twitter ahead of the 2019 Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.

โ€œAfter an amazing 11 years with [Fulcher], our successful run together has finished for now, as [Fulcher] is required to take an indefinite leave of absence from caddying to focus on his health and well-being after the heart procedure earlier this year,โ€ Rose wrote on Twitter. โ€œHe has been medically advised that a further period of recuperation is required. I wish him all the best as he works on getting 100% fit and healthy. I also have no doubts that we will stride up a 72nd hole late on a Sunday afternoon together in the future.โ€

Fulcher underwent surgery in March to repair the mitral valve in his heart, returning to work at the Masters in April. Fulcher has been on the bag since, including a third-place effort at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Gareth Lord, who subbed in for Fulcher during his recuperation, will be on the bag for Rose this week at Muirfield Village and is expected to take over the job on a full-time basis while Fulcher's health improves.
