Callaway Golf has introduced the next generation of its Sure Out wedges, designed to make it easier for players of all skill levels to extricate themselves from deep grass and bunkers, as well hit touchy shots from the fairway with spin.
The big feature on the original Sure Out is the sole design, which sports plenty of heel relief (curvature, really), for easier contact in a variety of lies, including when opening the face for a bunker shot. With the Sure Out 2, the heel relief has been increased, and the bounce and sole radius have been changed so more players feel comfortable with the Sure Out in hand. For slightly better players, the original felt clunky.
The grip has been improved, too, bringing in the Lamkin Step Down grip, which has three markings on the grip so players can more comfortably grip the club for shorter, more specific shots.
The Callaway Golf Sure Out 2 wedges are available April 12 for $120 each in 56-, 58-, 60- and 64-degree heads in right- and left-hand options. Shaft choices include the KBS Wedge 90 steel, UST Mamiya 65 graphite and Fujikura Women's 50 graphite.
