If you have a Masters badge or Masters ticket from Augusta National Golf Club, then you should know the number of times that badge can be used to enter and re-enter Augusta National each day of tournament week is changing.
The club has published a change to its re-entry policy for annual badge holders and ticket holders, limiting their re-entry to the club to two times daily during championship week. The previous policy, instituted in 2017, allowed for a badge holder to re-enter three times each day.
In recent years, the club has paid closer mind to patrons -- regular guests and one-timers who might be making a special trek to Augusta -- abusing the re-entry policy to allow others to enter the club with their badge or ticket throughout the day. In some cases, these abuses are to watch golf on the grounds. In others, abusers are purchasing high volumes of merchandise, including for resale.
Generally speaking, the club is looking to further discourage scalping and re-use of tickets and badges, particularly badge rentals for high prices.
The Augusta Chronicle was first to report on the change, which will cover the final round of the Augusta National Women's Invitational, the finals of the Drive Chip and Putt competition, as well all practice and tournament rounds for the Masters.
