Suzann Pettersen pregnant with first child, leaving 2018 LPGA schedule in doubt

The great news is Suzann Pettersen is pregnant, expecting her first child with husband Christian Ringvold. That great news means the two-time major winner has a somewhat uncertain 2018 LPGA schedule, particularly later in the year as she nears her due date.

Golfweek first reported Pettersen's pregnancy, as told to them by Pettersen's agent.

Particularly constraining Pettersen's potential playing plans this season is a doctor's order restricting her air travel, meaning it will be difficult for Pettersen to cover multiple continents as the LPGA's first Asian swing wrapped, now leading into a run of several months in the United States before heading into Europe for a pair of late-summer events, including the Ricoh Women's British Open.

The 36-year-old and her husband planned the pregnancy as a lead-in to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, where Pettersen intends to represent her native Norway.

Suzann Pettersen and Christian Ringvold married in a January 2017 ceremony in Oslo, Norway. She has 15 career LPGA wins and is the first player from Norway to hold full-time LPGA status.
