2017 U.S. Open local qualifying sites announced, see the full list

The USGA has released the list of local qualifying sites and dates for the 2017 U.S. Open, the first step in getting to Erin Hills in Wisconsin.

A total of 114 qualifiers will be conducted from May 2-18 in 44 different states and Ontario, with the first-ever Canadian local qualifier on May 8. These are 18-hole events, with the top finishers moving on to 36-hole sectional qualifiers. The sectional qualifiers begin in May, with international events in England and Japan, with 10 U.S.-based qualifiers on June 5. The 2017 U.S. Open dates are June 15-18.

Orville Moody was the last player to win the U.S. Open after advancing through local qualifying, winning the U.S. Open in 1969.

U.S. Open qualifying requirements

Qualifiers are open to any professionals or players with a USGA handicap index of 1.4 or lower, and they must enter by the April 26 deadline.
