Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Valley View Golf Course in Utah became a crash site. Two men flying in a single-engine Cessna plane are fortunate to be alive after the wreck that left the aircraft in a bunker in the practice area.

"Customers just came running in and said a plane crashed on the practice green," said head pro Dustin Volk, according to KSL-TV.

Several people helped pull the passenger, who suffered minor injuries, out of the plane. The pilot was pinned inside the wreckage and was bleeding from his head. The golfers who responded unbuckled his seat belt and waited for emergency responders to arrive. The passenger went to the hospital for some treatment, while the pilot was treated at the scene.

As for what went wrong, witnesses away from the course said they heard the engine sputtering. Golf patrons said they didn't hear anything until the plane clipped trees near the driving range.

The company that owns the crashed plane was quick to throw the pilot and his passenger under the bus.

"So far, what we can tell is that it wasn't a mechanical problem," said Bountiful Flight owner Jason Clark. "Our airplanes are sound, They're fine. It was most likely pilot error."
