You may be too young or not geeky enough to remember "SimGolf." The 1996 PC game title allowed players to create and play their own golf courses -- albeit at a perspective akin to "SimCity," without much appreciation for detail.

Some 18 years later, amateur golf-course architects have a game after their own heart again.

'The Golf Club" allows players to design and play their own courses on the fly, even able to share them online and play against friends.
