Canadian Women’s Open has new sponsor, location

The Canadian Women's Open is swapping out one railroad operator for another as title sponsor of the former du Maurier Classic.

Canadian Pacific will replace CN as the title sponsor of the tournament won the last two years by newly minted teen pro Lydia Ko. Golfweek first reported the news which will be made official on Wednesday in a joint news conference with Golf Canada and the LPGA Tour.

CN stepped away as title sponsor of the event after eight years.

The London Free Press is reporting the Canadian Women's Open will be moving to the London Hunt Club in 2014. It will be London's third time hosting the event, including last in 2006 when Cristie Kerr beat Angela Stanford by a shot to claim the title.
