Great putters like Steve Stricker know great putters like Brandt Snedeker.

Perhaps, then, that makes it all the bigger of a compliment when Stricker said after the first round of the BMW Championship on Thursday that Snedeker is the an even better putter than he is.

"Its unbelievable. He's the best putter I've ever seen," Stricker said on Golf Channel after his an opening round of 5-under 66 at Conway Farms. "He either makes it, or it looks like it's going to go in. You can get any better than that. And he expects to make them, that's the other thing."

Snedeker did three better than Stricker on Day 1, grouped together alongside U.S. Open champion Justin Rose, shooting 8-under 63 to take a one-shot lead over Zach Johnson.

On the day, Snedeker had 3.513 strokes gained putting, while Stricker gained 2.971 against the field. Not too shabby for either of the two best putters on the PGA Tour and in the world.
