Lost luggage. It's the worst.
It's especially bad for a pro golfer. Whose luggage includes his clubs. And it was a transatlantic flight. To a major championship.
Rocco Mediate tweeted his displeasure with Delta Airlines on Monday, saying the airliner lost his luggage -- including his clothes and clubs -- during his flight to the United Kingdom for this week's Senior Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Thanks to Delta, I may or may not play this week. Zero clubs or bags. #brutal #seniorbritishopen

There's at least a chance that Delta could get the clubs and baggage to Mediate by Thursday, but that leaves him in the dark until the start of the championship.
Getting a replica set sent to England, however, is a tough task. Mediate's bag is a mash-up of clubs, including many from TaylorMade and some Titleist equipment.
How it'll play out is unclear, but there's always the chance Mediate could ask a local pro to lend him a set for the week. In the 2013 U.S. Open sectional qualifier -- "Golf's Longest Day" -- Scott Gardiner had to create a composite set of borrowed clubs in the Columbus, Ohio, tournament. He opened with 66 in the 36-hole event before falling back in Round 2.
