Charl Schwartzel was struggling at the 2013 Open Championship. He had just made bogey on four of his last five holes at Muirfield. He was 3 over on the day after going out in even-par 36.

His frustration was mounting. Then he hit a tee shot in the high grass to the left of the 15th fairway. After trying to extricate himself from the wispy stuff with a 6-iron, his anger got the best of him.

The 2010 Masters champion threw his club violently toward the ground, breaking the club in half. Schwartzel will have to play the remainder of the round with just 13 clubs.

Schwartzel eventually made double-bogey 6 at the 15th, putting him 5 over for the championship.
