Lindsey Vonn on Tiger Woods: ‘We’re similar’

Halt the presses: Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn get along with one another because they're, gasp, "similar."

Pause before the next paragraph.

Woods' girlfriend told People magazine on Monday that is the big secret to their success.

"We're similar," Vonn said at the CDFA Fashion Awards in New York. "We're both at the top of our sports, and we relate really well to each other."

This is the second fashion stop of note in the Big Apple for Vonn, who took Woods to the Met Gala as a guest of Vogue ahead of The Players Championship in May.

The couple announced their relationship publicly in March and, since then, rumors of a ratcheting up of their relationship have persisted since, including talk of an imminent engagement. Mum's the word from both about a further commitment. Both are divorced, after all. But Vonn has been spotted spending time with Woods' two kids, including riding jet skis over Memorial Day weekend.

Vonn's training schedule as she recovers from knee surgery in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, allows her to be close to Woods.

"There's not much distance," Vonn said. "I'm just in the gym right now, so I can be anywhere. I'm not skiing until September. So, it's been great. We haven't really been apart that much."
