Not only did Rory McIlroy take the lead in the FedEx Cup and PGA Tour money list with his third American win of the season at the Deutsche Bank Championship, but the Ulsterman also expanded his lead atop the Official World Golf Ranking.

McIlroy now leads No. 2 Luke Donald by 2.22 points in holding the world No. 1 ranking. Tiger Woods remains third, trailing McIlroy now 2.26 points. Woods could have passed McIlroy with a win at the Deutsche Bank had the PGA champion faltered, but that did not materialize.

Lee Westwood and Webb Simpson round out the top five, while Adam Scott moved up to sixth from ninth. Jason Dufner, Bubba Watson, Justin Rose and Steve Stricker round out the top 10.

For his runner-up finish at TPC Boston, Louis Oosthuizen gained six spots to 11th. Dustin Johnson jumped two to 14th.

Richie Ramsay, the Scot who picked up his second win at the Omega European Masters on Sunday, jumped from No. 110 to No. 68.
