Cheynne Woods wins first pro event in Suncoast Series

Cheyenne Woods may never win at the prolific rate her uncle, Tiger, but the 2011 NCAA individual champion from Wake Forest has notched her first pro victory.

Woods won the Suncoast Ladies Series event held at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Thursday. Her final-round 69 was good enough for a four-shot win over Taylore Karle at 6 under par in the 54-hole event.

After turning pro this summer, Woods made her pro debut in consecutive majors, gaining an exemption into the Wegmans LPGA Championship and qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open. She missed the cut in both before finishing T-50 at the Evian Masters.

Uncle Tiger chimed in with a rare tweet to congratulate his niece, saying, "Congrats to my niece Cheyenne on winning her first professional event. Won by 4, very proud."
