Sorenstam: I’m not coming back for the 2016 Olympics

Annika Sorenstam does not intend to make a comeback for golf's return to the Olympics in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

During a Twitter chat on Wednesday, Sorenstam responded to a question on the subject by saying:

Sorenstam would be 45 years old when the Olympic tournament begins. To qualify, Sorenstam would have to be one of the two highest-ranked Swedes in the Rolex Rankings as of a date to be determined in the future. Sorenstam does not carry a current ranking.
