With the clock winding down on Deutsche Bank's deal as title sponsor of the second FedEx Cup playoff event, its Americas CEO is optimistic an extension deal will be reached.

“Maybe we’re not at the 1-yard line, but we’re inside the 10,” Seth Waugh said at the media day for the Deutsche Bank Championship, according to Golfweek.

The agreement between the bank and the PGA Tour ends this year. It has been a looming topic of conversation for the last two years at the tournament. Deutsche Bank has been the only title sponsor in the event's 10-year history.

Though an extension could not be announced at the media day, Waugh is hopeful to share good news about the future of Deutsche Bank - as well as presenting sponsor EMC and beneficiary Tiger Woods Foundation - just before the Labor Day weekend tournament begins.
