At 99th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Thorbjorn Olesen is the second-highest ranked player in the field for this week's Austrian Open.

Through three rounds, he's three clear and poised for his second win of the season. Olesen shot 4-under 68 at Diamond CC to lead over Rikard Karlberg at 16 under par.

The Dane walked away from his Friday round disappointed to not have gone lower - a sign of the boost in confidence after his T-9 at the Open Championship.

"I could’ve taken a few more, but the fact that I’m feeling slightly disappointed with a 68 is probably a good sign, because it shows how well I’m playing and how high my expectations are," he said.

Four are tied for third at 12 under, among them, Thomas Levet. The French veteran is the only player of pedigree in the top six, though a reinvigorated Shane Lowry is six back in a tie for seventh.

With a win, Olesen would lock up a berth in the PGA Championship next month and his second win of the year, building on a Sicilian Open breakthrough.
