The 2019 Mayakoba Golf Classic purse is set for $7.2 million, with the winner's share coming in at $1,296,000 -- the standard 18 percent payout according to the PGA Tour's prize money distribution chart.
The Mayakoba Golf Classic field is headed by Jason Day, Tony Finau, Matt Kuchar and Cameron Champ.
The event is played this year at El Camaelon Golf Club in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
This is the next-to-last event of the year on the PGA Tour, with this being the second event of the calendar year played in Mexico. After next week's The RSM Classic, the PGA Tour schedule pauses until January 2020, with the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii marking the resumption of the 2019-2020 PGA Tour schedule.
The Mayakoba Golf Classic winner earns 500 FedEx Cup points, which is the amount awarded for regular PGA Tour events. The winner of the tournament earns a two-season exemption on the PGA Tour and is exempt for the remainder of the current season. The victory also gets players into a variety of invitational events, including the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
This week's winner receives an invitation into the Masters. The winner does get into the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The Players Championship and the PGA Championship.
