The 2019 Bermuda Championship purse is set for $3 million, with 66 professional players who complete four rounds at Port Royal Golf Club in Southampton, Bermuda, earning a paycheck this week.
The winner's share of the Bermuda Championship prize pool is at $540,000, with the second-place finisher taking home $327,000.
The Bermuda Championship field is headed by Scottie Scheffler, Denny McCarthy and Scott Stallings.
This tournament started with 120 players, with a cut down to the top 65 and ties in this opposite-field event. The PGA Tour runs opposite-field events against the four World Golf Championships events, which are co-sanctioned and not run specifically by the PGA Tour, and the British Open Championship.
With the new PGA Tour cut rule down to the top 65 and ties, no players are subject to the PGA Tour's secondary cut any longer.
The opposite-field events all have purses of $3.5 million or less, with the lure of the events not being the potential payday but rather the benefits that come with winning on the PGA Tour. Winners of opposite-field events get a two-plus season exemption on the PGA Tour, as well berths into the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The Players Championship and the PGA Championship.
