Tiger Woods' girlfriend, Erica Herman, has been dropped as a defendant in a civil suit filed by the family of a former employee of The Woods Jupiter restaurant who died in a car accident after a late shift.
Woods and Herman were initially named, along with the restaurant holding company, as defendants in a lawsuit filed in May by the family of Nicholas Immesberger. Immesberger died Dec. 10 in a wreck after working at the Jupiter-area restaurant, and police said the 24-year-old had a blood-alcohol level of 0.256, or three time Florida's 0.08 legal limit -- described in the suit as "severe intoxication."
In the suit, Immesberger's family alleged the staff knew he was a recovering alcoholic but continued to serve him liquor well after his shift concluded. The suit alleged Woods and Herman both drank with Immesberger several days prior to the crash after another shift.
Woods, who is not outright owner of the restaurant but does have a stake, was dropped from the suit in June after filings explaining Woods did not own the restaurant and was not present on the day of Immesberger's death.
Herman is the restaurant's general manager.
The suit against the restaurant holding company itself continues.
