What are the longest golf courses in women’s major championship history?

Over the years, golf's ruling bodies -- the ones that run the five women's major championships -- have lengthened golf courses in response to players hitting the ball farther than ever thanks to improved technology, better fitness and modern agronomy.

That has meant that, on occasion, a major championship -- the U.S. Women's Open or KPMG Women's PGA Championship, usually -- sets the record for the longest golf course in women's major championship history. It was the 2011 US Women's Open at The Broadmoor's East Course in Colorado that has set the record with the first-round setup of 7,026 yards, the only women's major course to play longer than 7,026 yards. However, the elevation of the course means the course actually played closer to 6,300 yards.

For the Women's PGA Championship, Hazeltine National played close to 6,900 yards, making it the longest golf course in championship history. It's also the course playing the longest in major championship history.

Mission Hills Country Club, home of the ANA Inspiration, plays to 6,793 yards now, making it one of the 10 longest courses in women's major championship history.
