Phil Mickelson 2019 schedule: When will he play next?

Phil Mickelson's 2019 schedule should begin with him serving a dual function of player and sort-of host at the Desert Classic, formerly the CareerBuilder Challenge, in the California desert near Palm Springs.

Then we should see Mickelson at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, after Mickelson chose to skip his hometown Farmers Insurance Open for one of the rare times in his career.

Mickelson committed to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he has won four times before 2019. He then added the Genesis Open after missing the cut in Phoenix.

The rest of Phil Mickelson's 2019 schedule is very much up in the air, with the 48-year-old saying he would like to avoid playing in long streaks and in events where he has not played well in the past.

Mickelson defends his win at the WGC-Mexico Championship, but he has regularly committed to The Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Will that continue?

Mickelson is competing in The Players, ande could play in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, particularly without the Houston Open before the Masters. He'll be in all four major championships.

It's unclear if Mickelson will play in the Wells Fargo Championship, or really much beyond April. However, he should compete in the Memorial Tournament. He has made a somewhat surprising commitment to the inaugural 3m Open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota over Independence Day weekend. We should see him at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, the week after the British Open Championship.

We should see Mickelson in all three FedEx Cup playoff events and he'll play some role, likely as a player, at the 2019 Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne in Australia.
