Suzann Pettersen is officially a mom, as she gave birth to her first child with husband Christian Ringvold.

Pettersen took to Instagram to share the good news of the birth of the couple's son.

Pettersen has taken off this season from the LPGA, preparing to become a mom and wanting to avoid all of the globe-trotting travel involved in a top-tier player's schedule. Pettersen's doctor advised her to avoid much air travel during the pregnancy.

Pettersen and Ringvold were married in January 2017 in Norway, where Pettersen is from. The 37-year-old two-time major winner planned the timing of her pregnancy so she could represent her country again in the 2020 Olympic women's golf tournament in Tokyo, Japan.

It's unclear when Pettersen will return to play.

This has been a year of high-profile pregnancies on the LPGA Tour, with Pettersen giving birth, Stacy Lewis in the late stages of pregnancy and Gerina Piller already giving birth after the season's first major.
