Tiger Woods' 2018 schedule expanded with his commitment to play in his own The National at TPC Potomac in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.

The National will be played June 28 through July 1, and it's an invitational tournament with a 120-player field. Technically, Woods is not exempt into his own tournament because of its invitational status, meaning Woods may have to give himself an exemption to play in the event.

Woods is a two-time winner of the event when it was played at Congressional Country Club. The tournament was slated to be played at the club neighboring TPC Potomac again this year, but without a title sponsor, the tournament got out of its deal to pay Congressional to hold the 2018 event there. Quicken Loans ended its title sponsorship run of the event after the 2017 playing. The tournament is still looking for a title sponsor.

Woods hasn't played in his own tournament since 2015 because of injuries and recovering from various back surgeries.

Kyle Stanley is defending champion of the event, which is run by Woods' TGR Live tournament management group and benefits his TGR (Tiger Woods) Foundation.
