If you're in the market for the softest golf ball you can find, then you'll be happy to know Titleist has updated its softest option, the DT TruSoft.
Introduced in 2015, the new Titleist DT TruSoft has a larger, low compression core and returns with a soft cover designed to deliver more distance in a lower-compression ball, with better feel and not as much of a sacrifice of greenside spin (which lower swing speed players struggle to produce anyhow).
A new TruFlex cover deliver extra soft feel around the green and improved short-game performance, which is really where lower-compression balls can let down a player.
We've certainly seen a trend in golf ball design toward lower compression, and that's on both ends of the price spectrum. The DT TruSoft was a transformation of the DT from a ball without a purpose to one that serves a specific set of players now very well.
The Titleist DT TruSoft golf balls will be available starting Sept. 21 for $22 per dozen in white and Optic Yellow.
